'Telemaque' is a 59ft aluminium ketch built to a Laurent Giles design by Thrislington, Newton Aycliffe and launched in 1984. She completed the ARC in 1992 and a second transatlantic in 2022.
She is a robust and performant cruiser that will take you anywhere in comfort and great safety.
Three double cabins can comfortably accommodate 6 people. The master (aft) cabin includes a large double berth with excellent storage in the wardrobes, drawers and cupboards. It also benefits from a private bathroom. The front cabin includes a large double berth and numerous storage cabinets and cupboards. The third bunk cabin offers two single berths. In one of the corridors, a small workshop has been fitted, also for tools and spare parts storage. The engine room is spacious and allows access all around the engine. The spacious saloon offers seating for 6 + 2 people. A chartplotter with radar as well as a pilot remote control are installed in the watch station next to the spacious chart table. The kitchen is equipped with Corian work surfaces, numerous drawers and cupboards, stainless steel under-mount sinks, Force 10 three-burner cooker with oven and grill, and storage shelves. The refrigerator is insulated by vacuum panels to reduce its consumption.
The boat is equipped with a Perkins Range 4, 6 cylinders, 185hp turbocharged and intercooled engine. An AquaDrive transmission is mounted behind the Borg Warner reverse gear. The propeller shaft is made of stainless steel and runs through a Halyard Marine oil bath rotary joint.
Its rigging, replaced in 2020, has two masts. A yankee mounted on a Harken furler and a staysail on a Profurl furler. The deck has a mooring locker on the foredeck as well as a spacious locker at the rear. The latter has a watertight locker housing for two 13kg gas bottles.
The boat is equipped with two diesel tanks totaling 2100 liters, as it was initially designed to face the winters of high latitudes without renewable energy sources. During the 2020 works, the boat gained its energy autonomy with three solar panels totaling 650W, a 350W SuperWind wind turbine mounted on the mizzen mast as well, as a removable 650W Switech hydrogenerator.
UV disinfection and microfiltration make the fresh water drinkable and without taste or odor.
